Kerry Low Low Chicken & Chrorizo Review

Kerry Low Low Chicken & Chorizo Ready Meal

When you think 'ready meal' and 'healthy', you don't often do so in the same sentence.

Irish food producer, Kerry, have introduced their Low Low range of frozen ready meals directly at the current Weight Watchers ready meals buyers, and is also a great meal idea for anyone following the 5:2 fasting diet, with most of their frozen ready meals around the 300 calorie mark.

They are also the only ready meals, as far as we know, that, under the current traffic light system, tick all the green boxes!

Low Low Kerry meals are designed to be cooked directly in the microwave oven, making them a very quick and easy meal for anyone working who wants a hot meal at lunchtime.

The Chicken and Chorizo Low Low meal is part of their 'Steam' set, the other being Chicken Biryani. What makes these different is you do not have to pierce or remove the wrapping, just follow the instructions. Around 7 minutes at 750W or 6 minutes at 850W with a further 1 minute standing, and your meal is done.

And, for those who doubt whether you really can get a decent tasting frozen, healthy ready meal, our verdict is.....10 out of 10!

After leaving to rest for the required 1 minute, just peel the lid off, give the tray a stir and tuck in! The meal looks a lot more colourful than some ready meals, and has a very pleasant aroma. The taste is impressive, especially when you consider these are available from around 98 pence each, depending on offers, and we managed to pay just 69 pence from our local Aldi, so in terms of value for money, OUTSTANDING!

At these sort of prices, it is hard to find any fault whatsoever, and although many will say 'you get what you pay for', in the case of these meals, we would say you are getting more than you pay for.

There are around 4 nice chunky pieces of chicken wit the chorizo flavour running through the sauce. The only warning is that this is a pretty spicy dish, so if you don't like a kick to your food, it is not for you!

Grab them when you see them on offer!
