Ham and Feta Cheese Wraps

This was an idea from one of my workmates! Wraps are a lot less bloating that traditional bread, and a lot healthier too! Can be made the day before and wrapped in clingfilm to keep them fresh. There is also a huge range of different wraps to choose from!

Total time:
Number of Servings: 1 servings

Ingredients (per wrap):
Your choice of wraps
Mayonnaise
Ham slices
Little Gem lettuce
Feta Cheese

Directions:
  • Layout wrap on a flat clean worktop or chopping board and spread a thin layer of mayonnaise over it.
  • Break off two or three lettuce leaves and push onto wrap breaking the lettuce spines so they sit flat. Just cover about two thirds of the wrap
  • Add a slice of ham (or 2 or 3 if using the wafer-thin ham) onto the lettuce leaves and spread a little more mayo.
  • Add another layer of lettuce leaves, followed by another slice of ham and sprinkle over some feta cheese.
  • To roll, fold in the two sides and then tightly roll the wrap. The trick is not to over fill it in the first place!
  • Wrap in cling film and store in fridge for next day's lunch.
  • If you follow a calorie controlled diet, these are great for giving you a low calorie filling lunch meal. Also ideal if you follow the 5:2 regime as one filled wrap is approximately 250 calories, so you can have two with about 100 calories to spare on a fasting day.
TIP: If you want to follow the 5:2 regime of losing weight, plan your week, which is easier than you think when doing shifts! If you time your fasting days right, you will be sleeping and  working most of the time and the 600 calories for men, or 500 calories for women, can be eaten during your lunch breaks, and then your main meal later that day can be timed so it falls at the 24 hour mark from when the fast began!
