Hoi Sin Chicken With Noodles

Hoi Sin Chicken with Noodles is not a common Chinese dish.

Most of us are familiar with Hoi Sin sauce as it is the sweet and sticky sauce usually served with Crispy Duck and Pancakes. But, you can also add it to Chinese dishes for a wonderful sweet tasting meal.

Read on for our version of this Chinese dish

Ingredients:

800g Diced Chicken Breast
2 tsp Light soy sauce
1 tsp Rice wine vinegar
1 Pack of Stir-fry vegetables
250g Dried Egg Noodles
1 tsp Hoi Sin Sauce
1 Chicken Stock cube
2 tsp Light soy sauce
Garlic Fry light

Method:

  • Marinade the diced Chicken breast in 2 teaspoons of light soy and 1 teaspoon of rice wine vinegar for at least 2 hours.
  • Cook the noodles according to the packet instructions and set aside until needed.
  • In a jug, add the chicken stock, hoi sin sauce, 2 teaspoons light soy sauce and 100ml boiling water and mix until all dissolved.
  • Add plenty of garlic fry light to a suitable sized Wok, get it hot and then add the chicken, including marinade, and stir fry until cooked through, about 5 minutes.
  • Drain Chicken in colander to remove liquid and add straight back to wok to cook for 2 or 3 minutes more to start browning a little.
  • Add the packet of vegetables and stir fry those for about 5 minutes before adding the noodles.
  • Stir everything together to warm the noodles through and start adding the chicken stock/hoi sin liquid a little at a time, making sure you stir it all in well so it coats the ingredients. Add a little more water if you like a little more sauce.
  • When everything is coated, make sure it is all nice and hot and then pop into a big serving bowl and place on table.
  • Serve in Chinese bowls and with chopsticks for authenticity!
  • Serve with additional boiled rice to really fill everyone up!
