Simple Stir Fried Vegetables

When we think Chinese cooking, many are put off trying it because they think it is either complicated or you need specialist equipment to do it. So, let us dispel that myth with this very simple Stir Fried Vegetable dish using nothing more than a regular frying pan.

Ingredients:

1 packet of Baby Sweetcorn, halved
1 Packet of Mangetout Peas
2 Garlic cloves crushed and chopped
Splash of light soy sauce
Splash of dark soy sauce
Fry light

Method:

  1. Cut the baby sweetcorn in halve, lengthways and trim, if necessary, the mangetout peas.
  2. Heat a frying pan with fry light and add the chopped garlic, stir fry for about 30 seconds
  3. Add the baby sweetcorn and continue stir frying until the sweetcorn begins to brown
  4. Add the mangetout peas and spray a little more fry light and stir well to make sure all the peas get some fry light on them.
  5. Add a splash of light soy sauce and stir well, then add the dark soy sauce, just a little to colour the vegetables slightly as shown in the main image.

Ideal vegetable side dish for almost any meal, and very quick and easy to do!

TIP: When using soy sauce remember the following; Light soy sauce will add saltiness, dark soy adds colour.
